You Cub fans have no class. Last year Cardinal fans, including myself really pulled for you guys in the playoffs. All I have read and heard about is how you jealous Cub fans are, and how you are all so happy that the cardinals got swept. Cubs fans deserve to go another hundered years before you make it to the World Series! Once again an example of what big cry babies you guys are. I hope your team totally falls apart!

I believe Stoney should run the show on the North Side and do whatever Chowd management did in Bean Town. I wanna see a championship on the North Side sometime in my lifetime. The Chowds finally ended their pain and suffering, now it's OUR time for OURS to end. STONEY 4 GM! Die Hard Cubs Fan

Stoney was correct, no excuse for the Cubbies not going to the playoffs this season. They had a potent offense and a stellar pitching rotation. My Cubbies lost focus and that chemistry that they had last season. Go Cubs and I hope the Cards get swept tonight so the Chowds can celebrate after all those years of pain and suffering, and hopefully our turn comes NEXT YEAR. True Blue Cubbie Fan 4 Life

I am a 28 year old long time Cub fan. My Dad took me to my first game when I was 10 years old back in '86. It was a September game against Pittsburgh. Ryne Sandberg hit a solo home run and the Cubs won 1-0. Ever since that day I have been an avid, out of control, obsessed Cub FANATIC! I have gotten in shoving matches in bars with Cardinals and white sox fans. I have gotten in family arguements on Christmas and Labor Day. I have thrown beers at the t.v. and the wall. I guess I need help but I dont want to stop loving the Cubs. I still want to care. I still want it to be a reflex to jump out of my seat when they win. But, I guess I should stop getting in fights over this. I mean I am taking the Chicago Police exam next month!!!

Hey I agree with what the shirts says the Cubs do suck it is so funny how the Cubs always find a way to blow it every year. And you should not blame game 6 in the 2003 NLCS on Steve Bartman. You should blame the shortstop, he blew it on the very next hit ball. The Cubs are not cursed they just suck. In closing, Go White Sox, and Go Astros, and oh yeah Go Cardinals!!!!!!!!!

FYI. Several years ago the league initiated a Major League rule that all alcohol vending be stopped after the 7th inning for obvious safety reasons. It had nothing to do with the Losers at Wrigley a few years ago that attacked the Dodgers. I am sure though that the league had a few cities in mind when they created the rule, Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York, come to mind.

There is a Yankees fan, a Red Sox fan, a Cardinals fan, and a Cubs fan that decide to go mountain climbing. The whole way up the mountain all four are arguing over who is the most dedicated to their team. When they reach the top the Yankees fan stands and says "This is for my team" and he leaps off the mountain and falls to his death, committing the ultimate sacrifice for his team. The Red Sox fan, not wishing to be outdone stands and says "This is for my team" he follows and jumps to his death. The Cardinals fan stands up and says "This is for my team" and he pushes the Cubs fan off the mountain.....GO CARDS!!! Sorry Cub Fans, but all of us here in St. Louis are loving this! This year the Cubs were cocky, arrogant, and acted like JERKS! Perhaps you would have been able to rack up a few more victories and maybe got the wildcard if your team would have concentrated on winning games instead of acting like children when things didn't go their way! Unless your team gets focused there won't be a postseason for you next year either! You are no longer "Loveable Losers" You're just Losers!

Ive been a cubs fan my entire life...but this year would have to say was the most dissapointing season...I agree with Steve Stone...we should have won this year...this team had so much talent...They had the best pitching staff in the league...they added GarciaParra...im very surrprised they lost... I have alot of respect for Dusty BAker but he made alot of mistakes this season...first the 2b pistion...that was Todd walkers postion not Marks...And also bullpen...Farnsowrth was having a terrible season but yet dusty brought him out every night...The exact with the rest...Most dissapointing though was LaTroy Hawkins...the last five years of the season we had a lead and latroy blew them and gave them away like the game against the mets...were up by 2...2 outs 2 strikes and latroy gives up a homer to tie it and then win...i hope GarciaParra stays along with alou sosa clement walker and hollandsworth... Quote: "White Sox fans, well I guess they're okay....when they're not in jail for storming out on the field like drunken idiots to attack an umpire of first base coach. " <-- Seems to me the reason the league stopped serving beer after the eigth inning was because of IDIOT drunken Cub fans fighting with the Dodgers. The idiot Sox fan got what he deserved. The idiot Cub fans screwed it up for the rest of us responsible drinkers across the country. Quote: "At Wrigley, fans enjoy the atmosphere before, during, and after the game. " Atmosphere? You must mean having to sit next to Cub fans who are on their cell phone during the whole game and not even watching the game, or the group of girls that go and just talk amongs themselves and have no clue what the game is all about. My 5 year old son had to tell these so-called Cubs fans to shut up and watch the game... At least at Comisky Park II the fans actually watch the game. And How do you explain to a baseball loving kid why the so-called Cubs fans are throwing garbage onto the field because the Cubs lost? Immature fans or people that should get a life. We can always get tickets at Comisky Park II because all the pseudo-fans go for the "atmosphere" at wrigley.

You Cub fans have an excuse for everything! Billy Goats, Bartman, and now injuries. Let's just postphone the season for the poor Cubs!!!! Don't forget the Cardinals were without closer Jason Isringhausen most of last season. Injuries are part of the game, if we had Izzy healthy last season who knows what would have happened? I guarantee one thing, the Cardinals won't ever be 17 and a half games behind the Cubs EVER! I would like to see a Cards/cubs playoff series so the Cards can stomp on the cubs again! Looks like the Wild Card is gonna go to Houston anyway. Hey cub fans, have fun watching the Cards in the World Series this year!

I am not an expert on Chicago. I have heard about the curse of the Billy Goat. I am very familar with the term "Loveable Losers", and I am aware of the fact that the annual World Series has been Cubless for a long, long time. But I think that if we are talking about losers The White Sox are the clear losers of Chicago. History states that the White Sox also haven't won a World Series since before 1920. The Cubs in their history have been to the Fall Classic 10 times, the Sox just 4. In the last 25 years The Cubs have made it to the post-season 4 times, of course, they lost them all, but the White Sox have only been there 3 times, and they lost every series also. Let's go beyond the stats. Wrigley Field is a Baseball fans Nirvana, it doesn't get any better than Wrigley, and the fans show support whether the Cubs are 5 games up, or 25 games out. At Wrigley, fans enjoy the atmosphere before, during, and after the game. The White Sox, they play where? US Cellular, Comisky II. No matter what it called, it aint no Wrigley! White Sox fans, well I guess they're okay....when they're not in jail for storming out on the field like drunken idiots to attack an umpire of first base coach. Fan Support, ever been to a White Sox game in September? The stadium is a ghost town! And, fans at US Cellular better get off the premises immediately following the game or you may get robbed and beaten. Hang your heads high Cub Fans. Your are(by far)the best the Windy City has to offer!

I am 28 years old and live in Central Illinois. My Grandfather has always been a die-hard Cardinal fan, my Dad has stood by the Cubbies all his life. My Grandfather tells stories about sitting in the right field stands in the old Sportsman Park watching the Cardinals beat the Yankees in the World Series, in I believe 1964. He also says he was there in 67 and 68 cheering on the Cardinals against the Red Sox and the Tigers. My grandfather has a ball that he keeps on the fireplace mantel that was hit foul off the bat of Ken Oberkfell in 1982 (the Cards beat the Brewers in the World Series that year). My Dad......well he told me a story once about how he almost cried when the Cubs lost to the Padres in the playoffs in 84. I feel kinda sorry for my kids, they will never hear great baseball stories from their Grandpa, like I did.

Why is it that we fall behind everytime after we lose a game in a series? I mean, Friday we did so well, but when it comes down to it the next couple of games against the Phillies was "CRAP". I mean I had a stroke sitting there watching the game sunday. I think I wanted to go to the ER after the homer was hit at the bottom of the ninth. It just sealed my coffin so tight that I wanted to just yell and kick my TV.

Just had to report that this group's esteemed leader grabbed a foul ball at the Reds game on Wednesday...this after I dropped another one that barely cleared the screen behind home plate. He was so embarrassed by my drop that he had to move (okay, so the rain made him move), and the ball went right to him! The Cubs won 5-4, and there were some signs of improvement, but I don't think they can rely on the long ball (all runs were a result of HRs). They still need to work on getting the fundamentals, but I think that it's something that can be improved, and the division isn't out of the question yet (maybe I need this group more than I thought).

Then hwen they are down a few runs havinga bad day, they dont try to rally they dont play baseball, they turn into tantroming f#ckin children. My name is Chris. I am a Cubs fan. Have been for all 28 years of my life and since before that. My grandfather shed tears for them in ’45 when that horrible goat first reared its foul little head, and then again in ’69 with my uncles when the Mets (spit) came from nowhere. I attended my first game when my mother was 5 months pregnant with me. Though I had an obstructed view, I knew those bleachers were my home. I’ve carried the torch of faith in the cubs through thick and thin ever since. My tattered old hats and the scars on my heart tell the story of all the ups, downs and near misses I’ve watched through the years. Then, last year in that horrible inning in October, as that ball sailed towards foul territory and Bartman’s eager hands, I heard that damned billy goat chuckle once more. I cried like the heavens were falling. I was so inconsolable that not even beer soothed my sprit. Those among you who share my faith know this pain. Those of you who don’t aren’t Cub fans. But this year a change is coming. I can see it in my dreams. I see that evil ball lying in shreds. I see an old friend returning home, wiser and stronger than when he left and ready to lead us to victory. I see a home run sailing over the ivy and into that historic old green scoreboard. I see a stern faced young man with an arm of steal stare down that billy goat, and I see that wretched little creature run for his life. I see a ring on Sammy’s finger. In 31 short days our historic season starts. As I sit here anxiously awaiting that first ball to fly across the plate, I hear my grandpa’s voice whispering to me, “Next year is here”. My name is Chris. I am a Cubs fan.

Greetings, My name is Andrew, and I am an 18 year old Cubs fan. The Cubs have always been one of my favorite teams ever since I was a little boy. I actually live in St. Louis, so I am a die-hard Cardinals fan, but I like the Cubs too and also the Boston Red Sox. I think the Cubs are going to do very well again in the coming season and hopefully make the playoffs again. Then if they can avert disaster like last year's NLCS debacle, we can celebrate the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs! And if not, well, there's always next year!

Hi, My name is Dennis and I am 15 years old. My first cubs game was before I can even remember. The first one I do remember was magical. I was 3 years old. I sat in the bleachers and sadly never had a chance to sit there again. Anyway I was hooked on Cubs baseball before I could walk: and my first work was Sandburg. Well this year was the best year in my life. The Cubs were in the playoffs and we have Mark Prior. People my be upset about losing in the NLCS but its ALOT better than the year before. So if all the CUbs fans just belive it could happen.(and yea that sounds really corny) -Lifetime Cubs Fan-Dennis

Hi, My name is To... I mean uh Bill, yeah thats right its Bill. Bill Smith. Hi, My name is Bill Smith and I was a Cub fan all my life. I could name the entire starting line-up of the '69 team. I once spoke to Lee Smith while he was sitting the in the bull pen. I gave honors to Andre on a regular basis in right field. I had a favorite stool at Murphys. But then came the 2003 season. Could I dare to belive? Could I dare imagine a Cubs - Red Sox/Yankees W/S? Then came that inning. Poor Steve Bartman. He was just doing what every single fan on the planet would have done. Don't deny it, you know you would have. But now he is "the goat"! But how does the best fielding shortstop in the league drop that grounder? It hurts to think about it. It's too much! I can't take it anymore. As of right now I am swearing off the Cubs forever. But I love baseball. So which team should I follow. The White Sox? Yeah right, like that'll happen. The Cards - no way they're the enemy. The F#%@ing Mets? Not! The Brewers? BORING! I just moved to Arizona, so mayby the D-Backs. Not a bad team, they won a W/S this century, nice stadium, swimming pool and all. I don't know, it just doesn't feel right. I hear that one of the teams has spring training right here in Mesa AZ, where I live now. That's the answer, whatever team it is that has spring training here in Mesa, thats the team I'll follow! Just wait till next year!

Hello! My name is Jose and I am a Cus fan. I'm 24 years old and I live for the Cubs. I try to watch every game on TV and go to Wrigley at least twice a year. I had the misfortune to start watching the Cubs in the early 80's and just absolutely fell in love with the team. 1984 spoiled me as I was only 11 years old at the time and though that the Cubs would have many more winning moments. What a fool I was. As I got older and began to learn about the history of the Cubs, it was already to late. I was hooked. I need help. Every spring training I feel hope and think about the possibility of the Cubs finally winning a World Series. I can see my way clearly for now because the Cubs are mathematically eliminated. But next year I feel like I will be at it again. I will watch most of their games, take my two trips to Wrigley and watch the team for a couple of games on the road. Help me! --Jose in VA

Good day to all fellow Recovering Cubs Fans. My Name is Mark and I am A Cubs fan. I am 30 years old and have been going to Cubs games since I was 3. Do the math and you will realize that my first Cubs game was in that ill fated '69 season. I was not wise enough then to realize how that would be a foreshadowing of at least the next 27 years to come at Wrigley Field. I realize that I have a problem, as my moods tend to have a high correlation with the Cubs team and their success or failures. I have been brought to new emotional highs in 1984 when they made the playoffs for the first time in my life, and brought to new lows within a week as they lost the NLCS on my 18th birthday. I am in a real dilemma, can I just throw away the past that was once so important to me. How can I toss my personalized autograph poster of "Ryno" or store away my game worn jerseys? What will go in the blank space left by my limited addition remake of Norman Rockwell's "The Bat Boy" More importantly what will go in those empty spaces that I reserved in my heart for those hapless wonders, who have to not only watch as I do, but live the horror of a 162 game season.

To the person who just submitted claiming that baseball is stupid. Here is a question. What the hell are you doing on this website? If that is the way you feel then why would you waste your time trying to convince us of your inaccurate observations! Baseball gives us all a reason to put away our troubles and enjoy ourselves for awhile. You are the one who is taking it way too seriously! Whether we are Cub Fans who can't wait til next year, Cardinal fans who believe that Mark Prior is the Antichrist, White Sox fans who believe that the Sox are a real baseball team, or yes, even Yankee fans (bums) there is one thing we share, we will continue to spend money, time, and most of all passion on Americas Greatest Pastime, and we will LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT! But as for you, my friend, you will obviously go through your life putting down the things that you can't understand while trying to build yourself up by claiming to be smarter than the rest of us.... I think I speak for the rest of us when I say...."Get a Life"!

Baseball is stupid just like the fans. Just read the mindless banter. It is just a game! Get a grip! Big deal and who cares. It is just an artificial mind implant to suck money out of all of you so these athletes, coaches, trainers and owners can live a lifestyle most of you will never achieve. Oh by the way, the guys I just mentioned, they could care less about any of you.

To the Cardinals fan who claims Mark Prior is the antichrist: you're just jealous that he'll be playing for the Cubs for another decade or two striking out your Cardinals left and right. To the Sox fans who decided to throw your two cents in: it's nice to see that all three of you showed up, equaling your average attendance this season. To all of the other incoherent idiots who made posts: learn how to write and spell, and STOP HITTING THE SUBMIT BUTTON MORE THAN ONCE! To the real Cubs fans: we had a great season that was unfortunately cut short. Next year, we'll go all the way! Go Cubs!

Hi. My name is Woodstock Warren and I am powerless over the Cubs. They are also powerless, and therein lies the problem I am only now bringing myself to admit openly. I am willingly taking this First Step. I swallowed my first dose of Cubs a long, long time ago. I was an impressionable youngster of barely 11 when Miss Machek let our sixth-grade class listen to the first game of the 1945 World Series on the radio. The Cubs won 9-0. I was hooked. The Cubs would sweep this Series and would go on, year after year, to World Championship after World Championship. Could it be otherwise? The Cubs led two games to one moving to Wrigley Field for the final three [end-of-war travel restrictions]. Even when the Cubs blew that Series, I did not see it as a portent. Now that I look back on it, that was the first time I said: "Wait till next year!" Yes, I was hooked. Third the next year. Sixth the year after that. Then ... the cellar ... for the first time. The Cubs had hit the low that perpetually would be their "new tradition." I had hit a low also, but I would not admit it. There always was that tonic, that elixir, that "Wait till next year!" -- for the true "high" I refused to believe that I never would achieve. There were brief periods in which I experienced sanity in reality, but then I would relapse. I was drunk on the Cubs again, totally gone, in 1984. They couldn't lose to the Padres -- not going out to San Diego with a 2-0 lead -- could they? Once more, neither job nor family mattered. It was all Cubs. Posters on the walls. Brand-new Sony Watch Man so I could follow them, wherever I went, to their revenge against Detroit -- the team that had beaten the Cubs to bring me down 39 years earlier. I scorned all overtures of help, even from an understanding sort named Steve Garvey who tried to reason with me by hitting a home run that should not have shocked me, given all those previous years of frustration, but did. And I found myself again muttering in delirium: "Wait till next yer!" I followed along my wayward path into 1989, and again my addiction brought hope. But the playoffs once more meant despair. This should have been a Giants step toward recovery, but I paid no heed. I was a Cubs fan! Forever! Through thin and thin. Wait till next year ... Wait ..... Then came 1997. A 14-0 start. It was the earliest "next year" had ended. Ever. It was the earliest I had ever realized that I was powerless over this "force" that so many times had picked me up, into a paradise overlooking a field of green, a sea of live and loud grandstands, ivy replete and waving in the fresh breezes of springtime hope -- only to dash me down again, where I could see as I lay in the third-baseline gutter that the field was browning, the sea was stagnant and the ivy was withering in winds that now sounded suspiciously like mocking laughter. Yes, I was, am and always will be a Cub-alcoholic! Now I have found Cubs Anonymous. There are people with the same affliction! People with whom I can share my despair and grief and letdowns and pains! I hope that with the help of you and my higher power [no, not the White Sox -- they have their own problems], I can progress steadily toward recovery. Thank you.

Hi, My name is Doug, and I am a Cubs fan. I don't remember my first game, but I do remember Jack Brickhouse turning over the announcing duties to Harry Carry, God rest his soul. I grew up in Northeast Iowa, and it was there that I listened to the Cubs lose game after game. My only alternative was to listen to the Twins lose game after game. Thank God I chose the Cubs. My first live Cubs game was a trip to St. Louis where I watched a twinbill on the Fourth Of July weekend. I don't remember much of the game except that Dave Kingman hit what I believe was his ONLY in the park home run in his career. I was nine years old. I will miss Harry. His last years were not his best, but even when he was in his prime, he was not afraid to scream at a overpaid ballplayer for missing a grounder or for popping up in a key situation. What Cub player wasn't overpaid or didn't scew up? I was kind of looking forward to a few Steve Stone saves when he looked out and saw Jeff Blauser at short and wondered what the Hell was going on...Does this mean Arnie won't have anyone to whisper dirty things to since Steve is a switch hitter? I am stuck in Kansas now, and TCI has determined that the Cubs are not reason enough to give me WGN. BUMMER Please keep me up to date wtih the happenings of my Cubbies. I too, have the old 45 of "CUBBIE BLUE," I don't have a turntable, but I won't let it go...unless I get the right offer... GBHC doug

Ed Cohen, you need to leave. I saw you interviewed on TV, otherwise I wouldn't have found this site. You put together this amateurish website with poor navigation (not even a "Home Page" button) back in 1997, and haven't updated it since, even when you publicized it on TV. But on TV, you said that you're going to root, root, root for the Cubbies again, now that they're winning again. Get lost! The great part about being a Cubs fan is the fact that you still support your team when they're battling Milwaukee for the cellar. That makes it so much sweeter when they eventually do win. If you're going to desert your team and then magically show up again when they're winners, go to St. Louis and be a Cardinal fan, that's more your style. Or maybe Los Angeles. Better yet, be like the Braves fans and wait until the NLCS to buy a ticket (if they make it that far)... Good riddance, you don't deserve to call yourself a Cubs Fan...

Jay Marriotti the ultimate pessimist (or realist, take your pick) said it correctly: "You could face the seats away from the field and Wrigley would still be packed." I love the Cubs but something has got to give. I've been all over the country to different parks in order to see the Cubs. Wrigley Field is the culprit. I love to brag about our beautiful ball park in the party surrounding but that is also the problem. People just don't go to watch the game any more except for us die hard fans. They go to have a good time. Good times are fun...but we want a championship. PS: If Andy McFAIL (not a typo) believes that bringing in Dusty "Jesus Christ of Chicago" Baker is going to fool us Cub fans and make us forget about passing up on Thome, you are sadly mistaken. We can only hope that Alou has a year like he used to in Houston and the rookies play well. Lets go Cubbies....SCREW THE TRIB.

It is unbelieveable that a team that's been so bad for so long can still manage to fill most seats at every home game. Maybe there should be a fan no-show day just to let the team owners see what it should be like when you offer a looser every year and expect people to actually pay to see it. Just pick a game or two and just don't show up. Empty house.

For whatever reason(s) the Cubs became baseballs loveable losers, and always manage to field a team with at least one superstar player. Whether it be Sosa, Sandberg, Grace, Dawson, Sutcliffe, or Wood. Because of the ridiculous numbers Sosas put up their take at the gate has been great. As long as people continue to support the Cubs because they are so loveable, they will continue to lose. Mr. McPhail knows that he doesnt NEED to put a competitive team out on the field because Wrigley frequently is selling out ANYWAY. So as a true Cubs fan if I can admit this, then you should be able to as well. Sincerely, Mr. Simon G.

is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all? Im a die-hard red sox fan who, every year, finds himself watching preseason bengals-lions over that brand of september baseball that only the red sox can provide. broken hearts? you pitiful cubs fans have never experienced them. and until you do, year after year after year, you'll know what it's like.

There's a certain empathy that is inherent in rooting for the cubs. I mean, come on... they're not called the Bears or the Grizzlies or something intimidating. They're the cubbies for god's sake! It's like puppies or kittens. Realistically, you don't go to a cub's game to watch professional baseball. You go to a cub's game to watch a pro baseball team take batting practice against the cubs.

It's true. Cubaholism exists. And you don't have to be 21 to be legally treated for it. Amen to the comments abotu LOYAL fans. I'm telling you, one of these days, the cubs are going to be there in October...and that meaningless joke about not being able to buy a hot Dog at Wrigley in October will be nothing but a farce. Then you'll cry, Sox fans. Until then, we will keep cheering on the Cubs and continue to feel such close brotherhood with Pat & Ron. Go WGN Radio! The cunts, I mean the cubs aint shit and the trib. should tear down wrigley once and for all. Get rid of that old eye sore and that would solve a lot of parking problems don't you think? And before I go , I just want to say that cubs stands for... C.an't U. B.e a S.ox fan? Later homos. P.S. Speaking of homo's isn't it ironic that wrigleyville is only a few blocks away from Fagville?? Makes you wonder.

This is how the Cubs 2002 season will be: ---75 wins (or less) ---5th place in the NL Central ---Pitching in shambles, with Kerry Wood on and off DL, Juan Cruz hammered, Jon Lieber winning only 12 games in a wildly inconsistent season, and the bullpen shelled. ---Moises Alou will be on and off DL, Fred McGriff will show his age, and Sosa will have an off year with only 45 HRs. ---Corey Patterson will be sent back to Iowa in June, then later included in a trade for badly needed pitching. (But he won't be the next Lou Brock) --Don Baylor will be fired in September for his midhandling of Cubs young talent and his strange ideas on baseball offense

Chicago broadcaster Mark Giangreco said it best -- "You look at the Cubs' lineup and you think to yourself, 'hey, this is just a bunch of GUYS'! They're not ballplayers." If you need to have AUGIE OJEDA and GARY MATTHEWS JR on your ML roster, because you've got nobody else, you've got problems. The pitching staff can't win every game 2-1, so don't get your hopes up, Cub fans.

HI, My name is Mary and I am a Cubaholic. My dad was a Cubs fan and I fought being sucked into that hell successfully until the 1984 season, when they broke my heart. I usually am successful in fighting off the horror of hope, but this year (2001) am beginning to check the scores and standings daily, which is the first sign of falling off the wagon (I live in Seattle now and can't watch the games). Yesterday and today I have started checking on line.

I also bear the guilt of infecting my son with this disease, but luckily since we live in Seattle, he has the Mariners to give him some balance and to experience a winning team!!!

DOES ANYONE in the Cubs organization know how to scout, develop and coach talent? In the half century-plus since the last Cub pennant, this mis-organization has home-grown ONLY FIVE quality players (Williams, Santo, Sutter, Kessinger, Maddux). [Kerry Wood? A lot of K's, few W's]

we're going to the series this year. and its incredibly rewarding to be able to say that i have been a cub fan all my life, and have never given up on them throughout all the frustration and pain. now they are in first place, and as a college ball player, i can tell you that the only way to win is to live and die as a team. this is not a fluke, because the cubs have a fire and a desire to leave everything out on the field, and i don't see that fire leaving for a long time.

Dear Fellow Cubs Fans (and 1 Sox jerk),

Look, we're Cubs fans because, somehow, it's part of our genetic code, passed down from father to son for generations.

Win or lose--or win and lose, lose, lose--we still have to root for our Cubbies.

I could no sooner give up on the Cubs than I could give up breathing.

Nevertheless, thank the Good Lord for Cubs Anonymous in seasons like this. The 12 steps teach me to look at things with humour.

It's not my fault I'm a fan of the Cubs; I just didn't have the good fortune to be born a Yankees fan.

So to all y'all out there, if you want a winner, become a Yankees fan.

Until then, go Cubbies!!!

The Cubs must trade Sosa before it is to late. Once July 31 is past Sosa is on a no trade clause in his contract. Sosa will pleed for a huge 200 million dollar contract which will strangle the cubs for another five years. What they could do in the mean time is trade him and recieve strength up the middle which is the element needed to win a championship.

WHEN ARE YOU PEOPLE REALIZE THAT AS LONG AS THERE ARE 37,000 PATHETIC PEOPLE A GAME, THE CUBS WILL NEVER BOTHER TO GO OUT AND PUT A GOOD TEAM ON THE FIELD AND IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T NOTICED, IN MONDAYS TRIBUNE SPORTS SECTION, THEY WERE ADVERTISING THE BALL PARK AND NOT THE TEAM. THAT JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU THE CONFIDENCE THE MANAGEMENT HAS IN THEIR TEAM.

See, what you Cub fans dont realize is that there isnt much you can do. You arent expected to win or supposed to win but the hope is there, the hope that someday, somehow there will be a silver lining. Its alot like your sex life. You get so close and what happens, the ball rolls between your legs or the opponent is the one that hits the home run and you are left pondering on that cold winters night over and over again. Figure this, if the cubs do win what is there to look forward to. Just remember that Kerry Wood is not the messiah nor is Corey Patterson. Chances are the Cubs would probably do better by signing Dave Kingman and Jody Davis. Oh where have you gone Ivan DeJesus, your fans are weeping in their dogs and beer, thats real queer. Whats that you say, Mr. Herman Franks, Dejesus as left and gone away, hey hey hey. . . hey, hey hey... Mr. Sizemore
